Once again we are asking for your help in recruiting for our Summer Student Program. This is our 24th year of hosting the program and although the details have not yet been finalized for SSP 2004, the scope of the project will potentially include: environmental and national parks conservation, biodiversity, community open space, scenic landscape conservation, GIS analysis and mapping and possible volcanic mitigation.
We consider the faculty references to be an important part of each application package and value your comments greatly. EDAW appreciates the time and effort you contributed to last year's references and look forward to receiving applications from your students again this year. Please encourage student with any of the following backgrounds to apply:
Landscape architecture
Community and/or regional planning
Parks, trails, and open space planning
Natural resource management
Visual resource management
Economic development
Sustainable tourism development
Environmental management
Architecture
We will be distributing posters once we have more details, however students can begin the application process now. This year we have made the application simpler and less costly by allowing all material to be submitted electronically. This newly created online application can be found in the Summer Student Program section of our web site, www.edaw.com . An additional feature is the finish later option which enables students to complete their application as time allows. Faculty reference forms will also be completed electronically, with a form sent via email to each professor the students selects.
