比起过去170年的殖民地时期，德州的景观面貌发生了巨大的变化。它从传统的农业化走向了快速的城市化。美国德州Austin的景观设计师、美国景观设计师协会理事罗伯特先生，从自然界获得的灵感，在他的设计中运用可持续的方法，选择乡土植物和原态的石头。 其工作室在将以上元素融入到城市建设的过程中创造了独特的德州风格，这种风格突出体现在他在德州中部Austin和 San Antonio的设计中，而其运用崭新的生态保护方法设计和规划的Lady Bird Johnson野生花卉中心这一卓越的花园曾经感动了众多的设计师和游客去拥抱那些乡土的和从未见过野生植物。
Abstract:
The Texas landscape has undergone dramatic transformations over the past 170 years of settlement, moving from predominantly rural to overwhelmingly urban. By gaining inspiration from the natural world, J. Robert Anderson, FASLA, landscape architect of Austin, Texas, USA, has used sustainable methods, native plant selections, and rugged stone in his work. His office has designed landscapes that evoke the unique character of Texas while blending them into urban settings. This is particularly true of his work in Austin and San Antonio, in the central Texas region. One prominent garden, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center has influenced many designers and visitors to embrace native plants and beyond plants, a new way of ecologically-based design and planning.
